CrossLang helps companies carry out pilot projects involving a preliminary, small scale test of the technology. In the case of Machine Translation we will run a simulation of the customisation and deployment process with a few language pairs. This allows business managers to accurately predict return on investment and adjust project settings if necessary to make sure that the design of the full-scale technology implementation is successful.
Besides an evaluation of the MT output, which is the main focus of a quality assessment described here we also take other aspects of a potential implementation into account, such as:
- Integration: the pre-translated segments have to be presented in the translator’s regular editing environment and no manual conversion or other handling should have to take place.
- Cost: the investment should be less than the potential cost savings - otherwise there is no ROI. The pricing model should be transparent and in line with the total translation budget.
