YOOtranslate is an innovative service that allows Language Professionals to use Machine Translation (MT) in a project context.

The service gives access to different MT engines and technologies, both rule-based and statistical. Once CrossLang understands the project context they will advise on the choice of MT engine.

Customers may choose to work with the base engine quality, and in some cases this will be sufficient for the projects deliverable expectations and/or budget. However the better results are obtained through customisation and it is here that working with CrossLang can bring the most benefits.

Through our hands-on experience in working with some of the major players who have already deployed this technology we have gained real expertise in customising MT engines – we have even been contracted by the original vendors to customise engines for their critical projects.

We can customise the MT engines so that the output is tuned for your specific project domain, ensuring a higher quality. Dictionary coding and/or data training will considerably improve the linguistic appropriateness and technical accuracy of the MT engine output.

The MT output only replaces new words and is inserted whenever the translation memory does not yield a match. In addition, YOOtranslate delivers bilingual file formats so that the MT output can be easily processed within your existing translation process. Hence the post-edited segments can be used to further grow translation memories.
